The Training and Career Guidance Office at Oman College of Management and Technology (OCMT) continued its mission of empowering students for career success through a vibrant series of specialized workshops delivered across three consecutive days, targeting students from Computer Science, MIS, Business, Finance, Administration, and Design programs. The initiative reflected OCMT’s strong commitment to bridging academic learning with real-world employability skills, ensuring students are equipped with the confidence, practical tools, and professional mindset required to excel in competitive industries.
The workshop series opened on Monday, 6 April 2026, with “Leading in Tech: Communication & Team Excellence,” delivered by Dr. Supriya Pulparambil in Room AC-115. The session focused on strengthening communication, teamwork, and leadership competencies within modern technology environments. Students explored professional communication strategies, leadership styles, conflict management, and effective collaboration in technical projects. Through real-world examples and interactive discussions, participants developed a stronger understanding of how communication and team excellence directly impact project success and career growth in the tech industry.
On Tuesday, 7 April 2026, business students took part in “Career Mapping: Job Search Strategies for Business Students,” presented by Ms. Ibtisam Al Harthi in Room AC-002. The workshop offered practical guidance on career planning, CV preparation, interview techniques, and strategic networking. Students from the Business, Finance, and Administration programs gained valuable insights into navigating the job market, identifying career opportunities, and presenting themselves confidently to prospective employers. The session significantly enhanced students’ awareness of employability skills essential for the modern business landscape.
The series concluded on Wednesday, 8 April 2026, with “Career Launchpad: Navigating Jobs in the Creative Sector,” delivered by Dr. Marjan Ilbeigi in Room AC-011 for Design students. The workshop addressed key challenges in the creative industry, with a strong focus on portfolio development, personal branding, and presenting creative work professionally. Students engaged in meaningful discussions on how to position themselves strategically in the design market and how to transform creativity into tangible career opportunities.
Across all three workshops, students actively participated in discussions, reflected on their personal strengths, and explored practical strategies for professional growth. The sessions created a highly engaging learning environment that encouraged confidence building, career clarity, and readiness for future opportunities. Participants from all programs expressed strong appreciation for the practical and interactive nature of the workshops, highlighting their immediate value in strengthening career preparedness and boosting confidence for the transition into professional life.
