The Oman College of Management and Technology witnessed on Monday morning, December 1, 2025, the launch of the “Bu‘d” event organized by the Student Affairs Department, with a wide attendance of students, faculty members, and those interested in the future of innovation. The event was graciously sponsored by Her Highness Dr. Taghreed bint Turki Al Said, a prominent national figure known for her strong support of creativity and development in the Sultanate through her educational and knowledge-based initiatives that encourage innovation and the building of an enlightened and prosperous society.
Her Highness’s patronage added a special value to the event, reflected clearly in the inspiring impromptu address she delivered to the audience. She affirmed that creativity is an inherent part of human nature and is deeply rooted in the Omani individual, noting that what distinguishes a person is not the ability to compete but the ability to collaborate and create shared impact. In a powerful message that resonated strongly with attendees, she said: “When talents complement one another, they bear fruit; when they compete, they wither… Creativity, at its core, is a space vast enough for everyone.”
As part of the event’s program, attendees explored seven main themes presented through student research papers that highlighted the future of key sectors and the role of innovation in transforming them, including:
• Innovation in healthcare and its role in saving lives and developing medical solutions
• Renewable energy under the theme Energy of Change
• The conventional energy sector through the concept of The Power of the Idea
• Sustainability and climate under the slogan Our Planet First
• Entrepreneurship and Shaping the Future
• Innovation in the financial sector under the theme Money Innovation
• And finally, innovation in architecture through Designing Tomorrow
Attendees expressed their admiration for the intellectual depth and rich discussions presented in the research papers, emphasizing that the event created a dynamic space for intellectual exchange and the unleashing of students’ creative potential.
The event concluded with special thanks and appreciation to Her Highness Dr. Taghreed bint Turki Al Said for her patronage, distinguished presence, and continued support for youth.
